What Events are available?
The events that will be offered at the (YES-Athletics) “Midwest Distance Challenge” will be the 800m, 1-mile and 3200m.
Athletes may only run one open event in order to concentrate their effort to run fast.
There will be a 4 x 400 Relay at the end of the open races that will be “just for fun” - open to all participants. Relay teams
will be made up “on the fly”, and “normal” batons can NOT be used. Each team will need to supply their own “Baton”,
which can be anything from an old shoe or sock - to a rubber duck - or anything in between. “Batons” will be inspected
for safety, functionality, and creativity. - - - An award will be given for the most creative “baton”. So, plan ahead - bring
the best “Baton” you can imagine. The “2019 Baton Award” could be yours!!! (Relays shall be mixed gender.)
- Pick which distance event you want to run. Then have fun with your fellow runners in a 4X400 that you won’t forget.
What is the Cost?
The cost is only $15 per student.
